Terms and Conditions
Final draft, version 1.1
WEBSITE TERMS
Website and platform terms
A1 Who we are
RacingEdge Connect is operated by Racingedge Technology ltd (RacingEdge, we, us). You can contact us through Contact us on racingedge.com for support, cancellation, privacy requests or complaints. State the purpose of your request and an account or transaction reference where relevant. Do not include payment authentication codes or unnecessary sensitive documents. These terms are version 1.1.
A2 What these terms cover
These terms apply to both My Paddock users and enterprise users of Storage Connect, Events, Dealership and Suppliers, including company owners, administrators and authorised staff. They cover our website, Marketplace and other features we make available. Your order identifies the features, limits, duration and price purchased. Planned or unavailable features are not included until made available. The Digital Vehicle Wallet holds vehicle records; the Payments Wallet is a separate financial feature. Consumer provisions apply when you act mainly outside your trade or profession; business provisions apply when you act for business purposes. The account or module label alone does not determine your legal status or remove mandatory rights.
A3 Agreement and separate notices
When you create an account or place an order, we ask you to accept these terms and make the relevant terms available to save. Browsing alone does not authorise a payment, a subscription, optional tracking or AI model training. The Privacy Notice explains our data use. Cookie and marketing choices are separate. An enterprise order and Part C apply where you act for a business; payment-provider terms apply to its services. Any specific order term takes precedence only for its subject and cannot remove mandatory legal rights.
A4 Accounts and authority
Account holders must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. An enterprise representative accepting an order must have authority to bind the company. Administrators control staff access; invited staff must follow these terms within their assigned role. Provide accurate information, keep credentials secure and report suspected misuse promptly. We may make proportionate identity, authority or business checks and explain restrictions where permitted. A company subscription or administrator acceptance does not give optional cookie consent for every staff member or device. Responsibility for an unauthorised action depends on applicable law and the circumstances; it is not automatic merely because your account was used.
A5 The platform and your counterparties
RacingEdge supplies the platform and the services expressly identified as ours. A dealer, private seller, storage operator, supplier, transporter, event organiser or hotel remains responsible for the goods or services it sells, unless the order explicitly identifies RacingEdge as the supplier. The order must identify the contracting trader and relevant terms before payment. A listing, enterprise subscription or profile badge is not a guarantee of solvency, ownership, vehicle condition or service quality.
ACCOUNT AND BILLING TERMS
Subscriptions and cancellation
A6 Price and renewal
The checkout summary shows the plan, included cars or business module, amount and currency, applicable tax, billing interval, renewal basis and any minimum term. Consumer prices include unavoidable charges or explain calculable charges before commitment. Optional extras require an active choice. A recurring plan renews as disclosed until cancelled. We confirm the contract and payment details in a form you can keep. Offers and referral discounts state their duration and the subsequent price.
A7 Activation and plan changes
Access starts when the applicable approval and payment checks complete. For a standard paid enterprise account, the first month must be paid before dashboard access. Adding a car beyond the current plan, including a car shared or added by an enterprise, must present the upgrade price and timing for your approval before charging. We do not silently upgrade you. Proration, immediate charges and the new renewal date are shown before confirmation. A plan downgrade explains any resulting limits and preserves access to lawful export or recovery routes.
A8 Ending a recurring subscription
You can stop renewal through Subscription and billing or by contacting support with a clear cancellation request. We confirm the cancellation and access end date. Unless a statutory right or the order provides otherwise, cancellation stops the next renewal and access continues until the paid period ends. It does not itself cancel an existing third-party booking, extinguish a payment dispute or forfeit wallet funds. We will not require a telephone call where an accessible online cancellation route is available.
A9 Consumer cooling off
For an eligible service contract made online, you normally have 14 days after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason. If you expressly ask us to start during that period, we may charge only the lawful proportion for services supplied before cancellation, where we provided the required information. Full performance ends that right only where the required prior request and acknowledgement were obtained. Starting a subscription or logging in does not by itself remove your rights. Digital content may have different consent requirements; we will explain these before supply. Any applicable renewal cooling-off rights also remain available.
A10 Refunds and changes
To cancel, use the account control, send a clear notice or use the optional form in Part F. Where a statutory service-cancellation refund is due, we make it within the applicable legal period, normally 14 days after notification, using the original payment method unless another lawful method is agreed without a fee. Statutory remedies for faulty goods or services remain. We give reasonable advance notice of material price or service changes, normally at least 30 days, and allow cancellation before an adverse renewal change takes effect. Immediate changes may be needed for law or security; we explain their effect and available remedies.
MY PADDOCK AND DIGITAL SERVICES
Vehicle records and RacingEdge AI
A11 My Paddock and the document vault
You may create vehicle profiles, upload photos, videos and one-page or multi-page documents, record mileage, parts, expenses, maintenance and reminders, and share selected records through available controls. You must have the right to upload and share the information. Check ownership information, VIN, dates and financial amounts before relying on them. A digital vehicle profile is not a legal title document, proof of roadworthiness or a complete independent vehicle-history check.
A12 Private records and sharing
Documents and private vehicle information are available only to the people and services authorised for the relevant function. Listing a car does not authorise publication of its whole vault, home address, identity documents or finance details. Review the audience before sharing with a dealer, buyer, storage company or supplier. Revoking access stops future platform access where supported, but cannot recall copies a recipient lawfully downloaded. A recipient remains responsible for its own lawful use and retention.
A13 AI assistance and your review
When you request an AI feature, relevant photos, document pages or selected records may be processed to recognise a car, extract details, organise records, draft descriptions or suggest maintenance information. AI results can be incomplete or incorrect. Review important results before saving, publishing, paying or making safety decisions. You can correct missing or uncertain values before confirming an entry; we do not treat an unverified AI suggestion as a verified fact. Manual entry and correction remain available where the feature supports them.
A14 Limits of AI and vehicle guidance
Wear indicators, component estimates, reminders, damage comparisons and expense summaries are aids. They do not replace servicing instructions, inspection by a competent professional, an MOT, insurance advice or emergency assistance. A reminder may depend on the dates and mileage supplied and notification permissions. We provide our services with reasonable care and skill; these limits do not exclude responsibility for our own breach or remove your legal rights. Do not use an AI result alone to decide that a car is safe to drive.
A15 AI data boundaries
Your private documents, identity information, payment data, messages and precise journeys are not licensed to train general-purpose AI models merely because you use RacingEdge. We do not use, or permit our processing providers to use, that private information to train general-purpose AI models for their own purposes. Requests for service processing do not grant a separate model-training licence. Any future optional training programme would require a separate, specific explanation and lawful choice; it cannot be bundled into cookies or account terms. The Privacy Notice identifies the processing purposes, providers and retention applicable to your requested AI feature.
BUYERS SELLERS AND SUPPLIERS
Marketplace and commerce
A16 Listings and vehicle sales
Sellers must be authorised to sell, state whether they act as a trader or private seller, and provide accurate price, mileage, specification, condition, history and material disclosures, including known finance or title restrictions. A vehicle listing requires the VIN information requested by the listing flow before publication. Public display of the full VIN is controlled separately. Do not conceal defects, fabricate provenance, misuse another seller's photos or misrepresent AI-generated descriptions as verified facts.
Buyers should check the seller, vehicle identity, title, inspection arrangements and transaction terms. Seller status affects statutory protections; trader-to-consumer sales remain subject to mandatory consumer law. No general statement that all vehicle sales are final can remove those rights. An enquiry, offer, acceptance or deposit has the contractual effect stated in the relevant transaction screen and seller agreement. The relevant transaction screen explains when a binding sale is made; these platform terms do not by themselves create a sale contract for every enquiry or offer.
A17 Parts and supplier orders
The order identifies the supplier, goods or work, compatibility information, delivery or performance arrangements, total price and cancellation/return terms. A multi-supplier basket identifies each separate supplier contract and payment allocation. Suppliers are responsible for lawful goods, competent work, accurate descriptions, fulfilment, invoices and applicable consumer remedies. Check vehicle fitment before ordering. Any inspection, return authorisation or complaints process must not unfairly obstruct statutory rights.
A18 Reviews promotions and referrals
Reviews must reflect a real experience. Fake reviews, concealed incentives, impersonation and manipulating ratings are prohibited. Any permitted incentive must be clearly labelled and must not depend on a positive review. We may investigate, remove or correct misleading review content and provide a reporting route. Paid placements, sponsored content and referral relationships must be identifiable. Referral rewards follow the published campaign conditions, including qualifying transactions, validation, timing and treatment of cancellations; they are not guaranteed investment returns.
A19 External contracts and regulated services
Insurance, finance, inspections, transport and other third-party services have their own supplier terms. We do not promise finance approval, insurance cover or inspection outcomes. Any credit-broking, insurance-distribution or payment role must be expressly disclosed and supported by the required permissions or lawful exemption before the feature is offered. A link or data-sharing instruction alone is not permission to act as a regulated intermediary.
For the Payments Wallet and the 14-day controlled-payment arrangement, see A24 to A30 on pages 8-9. Those payment instructions do not automatically cancel a separate vehicle-sale contract.
CONNECT SERVICES
Enterprise modules and journeys
A20 Storage and transport
Storage providers set their storage agreement, opening hours, charges, vehicle-access rules and insurance position before a booking. Check-in and check-out records document recorded condition and custody events; an uploaded image is not conclusive proof that no other damage exists. A checkout or collection request remains a request until the provider confirms it. Do not treat a requested date as authorisation to release a vehicle. The provider must verify the entitled owner or collector, confirm keys and handover, and handle disputes through its agreed process.
Transport invitations and pickup requests must identify the contracting transporter, collection authority, location, time, price, insurance and handover evidence. Connecting a transporter does not give it access to every customer record or permission to collect without approval. Share only the records needed for that booking. RacingEdge does not take physical custody merely by recording an event.
A21 Dealerships and suppliers
Businesses are responsible for lawful trading, staff authority, stock and service information, tax invoices, fulfilment and customer communications. They must obtain authority before adding a customer's car, changing records or initiating a payment request. A staff user may act only within assigned permissions. Marketplace publication, controlled-payment release and withdrawal rights require separate authorised actions; enterprise subscription does not confer ownership of customer cars or money.
A22 Events tickets and hotels
The booking identifies the organiser, date, venue, ticket conditions, safety requirements, price, cancellation terms and any hotel supplier. A consolidated booking display may contain several separate contracts. Date-specific leisure and accommodation bookings can have different cancellation rights from ordinary subscriptions; the applicable exception and terms must be disclosed before booking. Cancellation, postponement and material changes must be handled under the applicable contract and law. Event waivers cannot exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Combining travel services requires a separate assessment before any package-travel feature is sold.
A23 Roadrunner and device features
Journey, track and telemetry features may record location, movement, distance, speed, lap and sensor data when you activate them and grant the necessary device permissions. Use the app only when safe and lawful; configure it before driving. Features are not emergency services or permission to drive dangerously. GPS and background operation depend on device, browser, signal and permissions and may be incomplete. Installing the PWA does not grant location, camera, microphone, notifications or marketing consent. Stop recording and sharing using the feature controls; protect sensitive home and storage locations.
WALLET TERMS WHEN ACTIVATED
Payments Wallet terms
A24 Who provides payment services
Wallet functionality is available only when activated for your account under the payment provider terms presented before activation. Those terms identify the provider, its regulatory status and permissions, the holder of funds, RacingEdge's role and the applicable service. They form a separate payment agreement; these platform terms do not replace them. We do not accept a wallet funding instruction until those disclosures and required checks are complete. Availability may depend on identity, business, sanctions, fraud and other required checks. Use of the RacingEdge brand does not mean RacingEdge is a bank, payment institution or e-money issuer.
A25 Funding balances and withdrawals
Use only supported funding methods and accounts you are entitled to use. Pending, available, reserved and refundable amounts must be distinguished. A pending top-up or screenshot is not cleared money. Withdrawal availability, destination verification, processing time, currency conversion, limits and charges are shown before confirmation. A payment or withdrawal may be delayed by provider checks or banking processes; we communicate its status where permitted. Do not send money outside the displayed provider process to a seller or staff member claiming that this is required to unlock a wallet.
A26 Authorisation fees and corrections
A payment request is not your authorisation to pay. Before approval you see the payee, amount, currency, purpose, fees and any release conditions. Payment-provider authentication may be required. Applicable fees are displayed in the wallet and transaction summary before you commit; no fee is hidden in these terms. Duplicate instructions and reporting errors must be investigated and corrected. Notify suspected unauthorised or incorrectly executed payments promptly through the urgent reporting route in your payment provider terms and Contact us on racingedge.com; statutory notification periods, refunds and protections are not reduced by these terms.
A27 Safeguarding and protection
Before wallet activation, the provider-specific disclosure explains who holds the funds, the protection that applies and what happens if the provider fails. If the disclosed protection differs between balances or services, that difference must be explained before funding. Safeguarding, where applicable, is different from bank-deposit insurance. Do not assume the Financial Services Compensation Scheme covers the failure of a non-bank payment or e-money provider. This wallet is not described as escrow, insured savings, an interest-bearing investment or a guaranteed refund product. Any such claim requires a confirmed legal arrangement. Provider failure or a legal restriction can affect return timing and recovery.
A28 Restrictions disputes and closure
We or the provider may restrict relevant activity for suspected fraud, security incidents, legal obligations or a material breach, only as permitted by law and the applicable contract. We give reasons and a review route where lawful. Suspending an account or cancelling a subscription does not confiscate funds. Eligible balances remain subject to lawful withdrawal or redemption, pending transactions, legitimate disputes and any legal hold. Payment complaints follow the provider contact and response rules supplied with the wallet agreement, with Financial Ombudsman Service access where applicable; platform complaints remain with RacingEdge.
CONTROLLED PAYMENT TERMS
Controlled payments and the 14 day hold
This schedule applies only where the transaction summary expressly offers the 14-day controlled-payment arrangement and it is supported by the identified wallet provider. It is a commercial payment-release arrangement, separate from statutory cooling-off rights and the underlying seller contract.
A29 Agreement before money is reserved
The buyer and seller receive a transaction summary stating the car, parties, amount, whether it is a deposit or balance, charges, refund destination, inspection and/or finance conditions, authorised release actions and the hold deadline. Both must accept the same version before funds are reserved. Only provider-confirmed secured funds start the hold. The deadline is 14 calendar days after that recorded timestamp, stored consistently and displayed with date, time and timezone. A fresh browser session or repeat attempt must not restart the clock.
| Stage | Contractual instruction |
|---|---|
| Reserved | Reserved money is unavailable for seller withdrawal. The wallet shows the secured amount and exact deadline. A failed or pending funding attempt is not a reservation. |
| Conditions | The transaction identifies Inspection, Finance or both as agreed, with the required evidence and each party's confirmation recorded. AI does not decide that a condition is met or approve a payout. |
| Buyer release | Before the deadline, the authenticated buyer may authorise release after the agreed conditions are satisfied. A lawful waiver of agreed conditions must be explicit, accepted by both parties and recorded, with its effect explained. |
| Cancellation | Before release or an irrevocable payout instruction, the buyer or seller may end this controlled-payment arrangement within the hold period and trigger the agreed refund process. |
| Expiry | If funds are not released by the deadline, we initiate the agreed automatic refund. Expiry does not release funds to the seller or silently extend the deadline. |
| Legal restriction | A lawful provider, regulatory or court restriction may prevent an action. We display the pending/review status and available support route; an instant refund may not be possible. |
A30 What release and refund mean
Before you confirm release, we explain that a completed or irrevocable payment cannot simply be recalled through the hold control. Release does not waive fraud claims or statutory rights. A seller cancellation after release must follow the underlying contract and lawful refund/dispute process; it cannot create an automatic debit without authority. Ending the hold does not necessarily end the car-sale contract or extinguish either party's contractual claim.
Refunds follow the agreed lawful provider route and any mandatory original-payment-method requirements. Before the buyer commits, the summary states whether funds return to the wallet or funding source and whether any lawful fee is retained. Refund initiated and Refund completed are distinct statuses; we give the provider's expected timing and retain the transaction record. Chargebacks and mandatory payment rights are not replaced by this schedule.
PLATFORM USE
Content communications and conduct
A31 Your content and our limited licence
You retain rights in your uploaded material. You give us a non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, process, format and display it only as needed to operate the features you request, make authorised disclosures, protect the service and meet legal duties. Providers receive only the rights needed for their contracted work. Public listing media may be displayed in the selected listing and its normal discovery surfaces. Reuse in an unrelated advertising campaign requires separate permission. This licence is not a sale of your personal data or a general AI-training licence.
A32 Removal transfer and vehicle history
When you delete content or close an account, we stop ordinary use and apply the Privacy Notice retention rules, subject to legal records, disputes and limited backup cycles. Before transferring a car's digital records to a buyer, review and redact personal documents, previous owners' details, finance information and location history. A car sale does not automatically transfer your entire account or private communications. Records may have independent evidential value to another controller, which must explain its own lawful retention.
A33 Acceptable use
Do not use RacingEdge for fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, stolen or unlawful goods, harassment, impersonation, intellectual-property infringement, malware, unauthorised scraping or account access. Do not circumvent security, manipulate mileage or records, fabricate reviews, or use AI features to generate deceptive listings. Do not upload full payment-card security codes, unnecessary identity documents, access codes or other people's sensitive information into general-purpose fields. Submit identity checks only through the designated secure process.
A34 Messages notifications and marketing
Transaction, security, billing and account messages are used to operate the service; they are distinct from promotional marketing. Email or SMS marketing follows the applicable lawful permission and includes an easy opt-out. Push notifications need the relevant device permission; choosing cookies does not grant it. Referral invitations must be sent through lawful, approved mechanisms and must not be used for unsolicited bulk marketing. Important deadlines remain visible in the account because messages may be delayed, blocked or unavailable.
A35 Moderation reports and appeals
Use Contact us on racingedge.com to report illegal content, misleading listings, abusive messages, false reviews or rights infringement. Provide enough information to locate the issue. We may remove content, restrict a feature or investigate proportionately, preserve necessary evidence and give reasons and an appeal route where lawful. Reports are not proof of wrongdoing. We may act promptly for immediate safety, fraud or legal risks, while retaining applicable complaint and redress rights.
GENERAL LEGAL TERMS
Ending access responsibility and disputes
A36 Suspension and termination
We may suspend the affected service for a serious breach, non-payment, security risk or legal requirement, using a proportionate response. Where appropriate we give notice and an opportunity to remedy. You may request account closure through Contact us on racingedge.com or an available account closure control. We explain outstanding subscriptions, bookings, wallet transactions and export arrangements before closure. We do not erase necessary evidence or retain all data indefinitely just because an account is closed. If we discontinue a paid service, we provide reasonable notice and any refund or other remedy required by law or the contract.
A37 Our responsibility to consumers
We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are not responsible for an independent supplier's performance merely because it uses the platform, but remain responsible for our own services, statements and legal duties. AI limitations, service interruptions and user-review requirements do not remove those responsibilities.
A38 Business customers
For customers acting wholly in business, any agreed financial liability cap and permitted exclusions must appear expressly in the enterprise order and pass applicable reasonableness requirements. These platform terms do not introduce a numerical cap. Any business cap must expressly address data protection and security claims and exclude liabilities that cannot lawfully be limited, amounts properly due and obligations to return or account for customer funds. No broad consumer indemnity or waiver of mandatory rights is created by these terms.
A39 Complaints and resolution
Use Contact us on racingedge.com with the account or transaction reference and requested resolution. We investigate fairly and explain escalation routes. Payment-provider and privacy complaints have the additional routes in A28 and B10. Any available alternative dispute resolution scheme and our obligation or agreement to participate will be identified when relevant. You do not lose the right to seek a court remedy by raising a complaint.
A40 Law changes and contact
These terms are governed by English law. A UK consumer retains mandatory protection and the ability to bring proceedings in the courts available under the law of their home jurisdiction, including Scotland or Northern Ireland where applicable. Business disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales unless a signed order says otherwise. We give reasonable notice of material term changes and do not retrospectively change an agreed transaction or its release conditions. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining lawful provisions continue. A transfer of our contract must not reduce your rights.
Consumer cancellation form: Part F provides an optional form and the separate wording for immediate service access. A clear cancellation statement is sufficient; using the form is not compulsory.
